In class, we were tasked with learning how to work heavier equipment such as the circular wood saw. We had to learn how to drill them together and learned that when cutting the wood, line it up slightly to the left because the thickness of the saw makes the length of the wood shorter. We learned how to install the drill bits and how to take it out and how to measure where to drill. We had to paint the chipped areas on all of the platforms and chairs because they're the base set props on stage. We had to build the platforms for the Theater 1 and 2 shows, those also being painted black. After the platforms, etc. were built and painted, they were set up for the Theater 1 and 2 performances that week. We set all the props and set pieces for the Theater 2 performance that day and made sure everything was in their place. I worked in the loft, which is the costume closet, and assisted the costume head in designing and ordering costume pieces for the various shows we put on. We as a tech class, made it a priority to ensure that the stage and backstage were clean and organized especially before class ended. In the class, I got an incredible opportunity to learn how backstage works and to really get involved with something I didn't realize I loved.

The program to the right was the holiday choir concert that me and a colleague of mine worked. The choir director provided me with what she needed throughout the show, on the program and made sure we understood what was needed and was prominent that if we had any questions that she was free to help. This made me happy for my first tech show at this school especially considering that I have heard some bad tech stories elsewhere. We tested the mics, changed their batteries, made sure the speakers and light system was on, and controlled the lights and sound throughout the concert.
